Goodbye homework!

Homework can be stressful for children and parents, so we do without it. After plenty of time to play, we practise in short, focused sessions during study time, together with classmates and supported by the educational support worker.

After that, there is time to make music, do crafts, read, listen to stories, experiment and more.

Afternoon sessions finish at 4:15 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, families can choose between a 2:15 pm and a 4:15 pm finish.

The afternoon begins with 60 minutes of outdoor play, or play in the sports hall if it rains. We play cops and robbers, football and tag, and build huts or igloos. The class’s educational support worker leads the playtime.

We start with an afternoon snack, followed by 20 minutes of maths and 20 minutes of German. During this time, we work on practice exercises. That is all we need: the quiet atmosphere makes it easy to concentrate. The educational support worker helps students as they work. There is no written homework to complete at home.

After study time, we explore what we are learning through practical activities and play: experimenting, making music and singing, painting, crafts and creative projects, all in small groups. It is a chance to be creative and discover something new through hands-on learning.

For a relaxed end to the week, families can book an optional Friday afternoon session. Students can play sports in smaller groups, play cards, do crafts or read their favourite book. Dedicated playrooms and our park grounds provide space for these activities. An educational support worker accompanies the group.
